SB472 Training
Update for East Side Teachers
SB472 ELPD Professional Development
Portfolio Designees
| | Colleagues:
If you participated in AB466 or SB472 training in math or English prior to July 1, 2008, you are part of the Santa Clara County Office of Education Consortium. This means that our county office bills the state of California and then pays you directly. This process takes up to a year or more!
As of July 1, 2008, our district has become the Local Educational Agency (LEA) for the state run SB472 program. This means that our district will pay participating teachers a stipend at the completion of the initial forty-hour training and an additional $500 stipend at the completion of the 80-hour Portfolio. NOTE; AS A RESULT OF BUDGET ISSUES THIS PROGRAM IS SUSPENDED BEGINNING SEPT. 1, 2009!
We are now accepting portfolios for English teachers who completed the initial 40-hour training during the summer of 2006. These teachers will be notified in November regarding the portfolio procedures listed below under "Portfolio Designees."
Our district cannot submit for any reimbursements for the initial SB472 training or the Portfolio professional development unless the participating teacher completes the required hours, 40 and 80 respectively.
